Ala Counter Hook

Designed during the construction phase of an interior architecture project, Ala is a response to an often forgotten but always appreciated need to hang a bag or a coat under a counter. One of the happy outcomes of interior design projects is the visibility of needs and opportunities to create personal interpretations of innocuous products or objects.
Ala is named for its two wings which connect to a central stem. Bags, coats or scarves can be hung either side of the stem without the hook overly interfering with one’s personal space.
Manufactured by sand casting in brass or aluminium, Ala is rumbled to give a worn surface finish. It was decided not to seal the natural metal finish and allow the product to patina with time.
